This Saturday, September 12, we’re holding Van Orden and Tiffany accountable — for Eau Claire and La Crosse both — on Social Security and Medicare. The numbers tell the story better than we ever could: this year, seniors’ Social Security COLA rose 2.8%, while their Medicare Part B premium jumped 9.7% and the deductible climbed 10.1%. That’s not an accident. That’s a vote.

We worked our whole lives and paid into Social Security every paycheck. Van Orden and Tiffany voted to make retirement harder, not easier — and we’re not letting that slide quietly. When PottymouthPollyanna — an account with 449,000 followers — shared CVI’s Dolly banner, it catapulted our message to a national audience overnight. The banner, a creative riff on Dolly Parton’s iconic image with a pro-democracy twist, resonated far beyond Wisconsin.

This is what happens when grassroots creativity meets the right moment. CVI’s volunteer-made banners and signs consistently punch above their weight on social media because they are clever, timely, and authentic. No ad agency, no budget — just CVI members with markers, fabric, and a knack for messages that stick.

Eau Claire Women in Theater (ECWIT) performed ‘Failure is Impossible’ for CVI members and guests — an original dramatic readers theater piece about the incredible journey of women’s suffrage, including the significant role Wisconsin suffragists played in securing the 19th Amendment.

The performance featured CVI’s own Ann Pearson and told the story through the ghosts of suffrage past helping a young barista discover her voice. ECWIT is celebrating their 10th year, and bringing this performance to CVI was a powerful reminder that the fight for voting rights has always required courage, persistence, and community.

In a season focused on protecting the right to vote, this performance couldn’t have been more timely.

Tom Tiffany rolled out a ‘Protect Wisconsin Farmland Tour’ and cast himself as the guy standing between Big Tech and your back forty. The trouble is his record tells almost the exact opposite story.

He backed the SPEED Act to fast-track AI data center permits. He voted for H.R. 1, which handed corporations 100% tax write-offs and tried to bar states from regulating AI for a decade — a ban so extreme the Senate struck it 99-1. Derrick Van Orden voted yes on that same bill. Tiffany’s campaign even cashed a check from the lone lobbyist for the Wisconsin Data Center Coalition — the group he now claims to oppose.

CVI is making sure voters know the truth. At our rallies, dancing Hippos now join protesters to remind people that Van Orden and Tiffany are Data Center Hippo-crites. Three in four Wisconsin voters already say data centers cost more than they are worth. Now they need to know who is really behind them.
