Sojourner House Donations
Updated 5/27/25
For over a decade, Sojourner House in Eau Claire has been the only emergency shelter in the area available for the unhoused. The shelter is full nightly, with 55-80 adults staying there. Unfortunately, 15-20 people per night have to be turned away for lack of space, and most of those end up sleeping outside. Many of those receiving shelter have day jobs and are working toward independence again, waiting on low-income housing, and other support.
CVI was asked to help by providing sunscreen & bug spray, and used warm blankets, sleeping bags, small tents, and tarps. CVI’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors group has collected donations on behalf of Eau Claire’s Sojourner House. We delivered the following items on Memorial Day Friday.
- 50 blankets
- 8 sleeping bags
- 8 tarps
- 8 backpacks
- 5 sleeping pads
- 4 rain ponchos
- 35 bottles of sunscreen
- 12 cans of bug spray
- 40 personal hygiene products, including wet wipes, toilet paper, and paper towels
- Various breakfast bars, drinks, and instant oatmeal packets
