CVI has joined the national conversation!

CHIPPEWA VALLEY, AUGUST 4, 2025 — Chippewa Valley Indivisible may be having its 15 minutes of fame (misattributed to Andy Warhol but memorable, nonetheless).  The Rachel Maddow Show included the Tom Tiffany Beach Bash in the protest section on Monday, August 4, 2025. We had no prior notice that it would be covered but, as very, very loyal Maddow viewers, some of us were jumping up and screaming in our living rooms as it aired.

It all started with Robert Hubbell’s Substack Today’s Edition Newsletter on July 29, 2025. In his Concluding Thoughts, he complimented the action with the following, “Everyone involved in the creative protest deserves high marks for enthusiasm, creativity, messaging, and esprit de corps! We are living through difficult times. Maintaining a sense of humor and community are vital to our ability to abide for the long term. Good work, all!”  As one of the voices who inspires all of us to continue the resistance, it was really awesome to read his words!

Jess Craven (Chop Wood, Carry Water) then talked about the action on the July 31st episode of Practivist Pod (a podcast about inspiring and practical actions for activists). She and Nick Knudsen had a fun time talking about how we pulled off our outer clothing to reveal beach wear and then cavorted in the sprinklers. Lots of jokes about clothing removal in the studio was in good fun. She concluded with, “You know, tip of the hat to them. Great work, you guys. Great, great work!”

We rounded off the week with an IndivisWIN in Ezra’s Indivisible NewsletterFrom the newsletter, “When three Wisconsin Indivisible groups heard their GOP representative, Tom Tiffany, was using sprinklers to disperse peaceful protestors outside his office, they knew they had to respond creatively. Just like that, the Tom Tiffany Beach Bash was born! At their next protest outside Tiffany’s office, dozens of Indivisibles showed up in street clothes like normal — until the sprinklers came back on. Rather than run from the petty waterworks, the Indivisibles stripped down to their bathing suits, broke out their floaties, and kept on protesting! Their creativity made their protest even more noticeable and earned applause in one of the nation’s most-read political blogs.”

We are on the right path and taking the right actions! We’ve got some exciting new rallies coming up (including the Toto, Not America Anymore in Eau Claire)! We hope you will continue to come and support us in our resistance visibility efforts.

All of this coverage is certainly fun but, remember, the most important thing of all is that it shines a national spotlight on how one of our own Congressional Reps, Tom Tiffany, treats his constituents! It reminds people of his disastrous votes in support of this administration and the devastating results (many still to be realized) from his capitulation!
