Hometown Heroes Great Success …
Planting seeds of connection that we will nurture to take root
CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI, AUG 23, 2025
WEAU Coverage: Chippewa Valley Indivisible got 687 community members out and about at Riverfront Park, celebrating “Hometown Heroes,” an event with a goal of empowering community connections. Hundreds of people attending were able to get to know one another in a more social setting. Organizers said in recent years a lot of division in society has made people seem to forget we’re all just trying to do our best.
“What we’re doing is trying to celebrate and pay attention and see each other again because in these difficult political times, people only see how you voted and things like that. So, what we wanted to do was get past that and create an event where we just remember that we all live and work here, and that we all depend on each other to get by,” Greening said. She also said the work in trying to rebuild communities is crucial for generations to come.
