At the last meeting, we announced the upcoming Chippewa Valley Indivisible community building event (rescheduled from  NoKings). Please invite everyone to join us for the First Annual HOMETOWN HEROES OF THE CHIPPEWA VALLEY celebration. We will be gathering on Saturday, August 23, from 3pm to 9pm at Riverfront Park in Chippewa Falls to recognize ALL of the heroes of the hometown including police officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, teachers, and local leaders. We will also be celebrating the heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes like our federal and state workers, business owners AND service workers. We will recognize volunteers who served tirelessly throughout the area, childcare workers, parents, librarians, park staff … the list includes everyone who contributes to other members of our communities. We will be asking you to recognize YOUR HEROES on social media and tag this event.

We will have music, food trucks, children’s games, and frozen treats. Activities include face painting, sidewalk chalk, rock painting, and more. Children are invited to dress up as their favorite hero and march in the “Future Heroes of the Chippewa Valley” Children’s Parade (at 4pm). Invite your family and friends to join you!
