Voting in the John Crow Era: What the Roberts Court Means for Wisconsin

The Supreme Court’s Callais decision has reshaped the voting rights landscape. CVI breaks down what it means for Wisconsin voters heading into the midterms.

The ruling weakens protections that have safeguarded fair representation for decades. For communities in the Chippewa Valley, it means vigilance is more important than ever. CVI’s Rule of Law action group is already adapting, expanding poll observation, strengthening election protection efforts, and making sure every eligible voter knows their rights.

Democracy doesn’t defend itself. We do. And in this new era, that work has never been more urgent.

Healthcare Protest Tour Launches with 15-Foot Tiffany Puppet

CVI launched its Healthcare Protest Tour with stops in Wausau, La Crosse, and Eau Claire — complete with a 15-foot puppet of Rep. Tom Tiffany that’s impossible to ignore. The tour is shining a spotlight on the votes that gutted rural healthcare funding and left communities like ours vulnerable.

At each stop, community members shared personal stories about what healthcare cuts mean for real families. The puppet — towering over the crowd — served as a visceral reminder of who voted to take healthcare away from working Wisconsinites.

The tour is just getting started. More cities, more stories, more pressure. Because healthcare isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a survival issue.

Bridge Brigade Messaging Hits 277,000 Views — ‘Prosecute Pedophiles’ Tops the Charts

CVI’s Overpass Bridge Brigade continues to be one of the most effective grassroots messaging tools in Wisconsin. Our top-performing message — “Prosecute Pedophiles” — has now been viewed over 277,000 times across social media platforms.

Twice a week, rain or shine, CVI members take to the overpasses of Eau Claire with bold, unmissable signs. The messages are designed to cut through — and the engagement numbers prove they do. Drivers honk, wave, and pull over to take photos. The posts go viral. And the conversation shifts.

The Bridge Brigade isn’t just a protest — it’s a platform. And it’s reaching more people every week.

Analysis: CD07 Is Winnable — Here’s Why

New analysis shows that Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District is more competitive than many realize. With shifting demographics, energized voters, and strong grassroots infrastructure, CD07 is firmly in play for the 2026 midterms.

The data backs up what CVI members have been feeling on the ground: conversations are shifting, new voters are engaging, and the enthusiasm gap is closing. With sustained organizing through November, CD07 could deliver one of the most significant flips in the country.

This isn’t wishful thinking — it’s math. And the math says: keep going.

CVI By the Numbers: 1 Million Social Media Views and Counting

Chippewa Valley Indivisible hit a major milestone: over 1 million social media views across platforms. Our No Kings 3.0 video alone racked up 105,000 views, proving that local activism can break through the noise and reach people far beyond the Chippewa Valley.

These aren’t just numbers — they represent real people seeing our message, sharing it with their networks, and joining the conversation about democracy, healthcare, and accountability. From Facebook to TikTok to YouTube, CVI’s content is resonating because it’s authentic, it’s local, and it’s driven by real people doing real work.
